Class of 1956
My husband and I will be married 57 years in December. We have four married children, two boys and two girls. They have given us nine wonderful grandchildren ranging in age from 20 to 8 years.
We have been very fortunate to be able to travel to many countries in Europe and throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
In our retirement, my husband Jude enjoys all aspects of the computer and photography. Our church keeps him busy photographing all our events and making the pictures into slide shows or movies.
After getting the four children out on their own, I went back to work as a secretary for a few years and then retired shortly after my husband. That’s when we began to travel.
My big hobby is landscaping our property which is almost a full time job along with keeping up our large two-story home in Florissant.
In my spare time I volunteer for several organizations. Jude and I make home visits for the St. Vincent DePaul Society at our church helping families who need assistance with utility bills, rent, clothes, food and furniture very rewarding.
I have been president of the Ladies Club in our subdivision for 15 years and no one seems to want my job.
I am also a member of the Juvenile Conference Committee for the St. Louis County Family Court System. We see juveniles who have committed their first misdemeanor and try and get them back on the right track so they don’t ever have to go through the regular court system. I find this to be very rewarding work.
I have also been through the St. Louis County Citizens Police Academy training several times and serve as a volunteer for the Alumni Association.
In between all that I manage to play bridge once a month with a group of ladies who have been together for sixty years.
